Everything the 2 days cover

CIPP/E follows the official IAPP body of knowledge across three modules. You are taught live, 9:00am to 4:00pm UK on both days, by a trainer with at least 25 years in industry who still works in privacy.

Foundations of European data protection

The EU regulatory structures and institutions behind data protection law
How European data protection law has evolved to today’s framework
What counts as personal data, and how it is classified
Controller and processor roles and responsibilities
How the GDPR and ePrivacy rules interact

Module 2

GDPR compliance

The elements of the GDPR and its data processing principles
Consent and legitimate interests as lawful bases
Data subject rights and how to handle them in practice
International data transfers
Employee data and workplace monitoring
Security of processing and breach notification
Accountability measures that stand up to a regulator

Module 3

Legislation and regulatory bodies

The European regulatory authorities and how they operate
Supervisory powers and enforcement procedures
Penalties, and what regulators actually fine organisations for

Then the exam, when you’re ready

Your CIPP/E exam is included in the course fee: 90 multiple-choice questions in 2.5 hours, booked for a time that suits you after the course. Fail first time and we train you again free. Your IAPP membership is included too.
